Meet Andy!
Age: 11 years young
Weight: 65 lbs
Breed: Looks like a Spinone mix
Are you looking for a gentle, sweet companion to add joy and love to your life? Meet Andy, a bashful but incredibly loving dog who is ready to find his forever home. Andy has a tender temperament and thrives on affection, especially when he’s being petted and brushed. He’s most comfortable when he’s with his best friend, Leah, and they would love to stay together as they embark on this new chapter in their lives. Andy is a laid-back gentleman who is house-trained and well-behaved. He’s not a barker and is quiet and calm, making him a perfect addition to a peaceful home. Andy enjoys leisurely walks and is excellent on a leash, especially when he gets to walk alongside Leah. Andy’s loving and gentle nature extends to other animals as well. He is good with cats and calm dogs, making him a wonderful companion for a multi-pet household.Â
Andy is also a handsome boy. He looks like a Spinone Italiano with his long coat and sweet face, but he's smaller than most males of that breed at 65 lbs. He was adopted from a shelter with Leah many years ago, so we have no way of knowing what he is, but we do know he's a dashing fellow.Â
Andy and Leah’s story is a touching one. Their mom passed away unexpectedly while they were in boarding, and they are now looking for a new family to give them the love and care they deserve. Their mom adopted them together, and we believe it would be her wish that they stay together in their next home. If you have room in your heart and home for two wonderful companions, Andy and Leah will reward you with endless love and loyalty. They are ready to bring warmth and joy to a new family, continuing their journey together. If you're interested in being part of Andy and Leah's next chapter, fill out an adoption application at rarerescue.org!

We understand that it is important to you to find the right fit for your family. We feel the same way! The DOG ADOPTION INTEREST FORM is important and REQUIREDÂ for this reason.Â
All of our Adoptables are:
Spayed/neutered; Up to date on vaccines; Heartworm tested if six months or older (& kept on heartworm preventative and treated for heartworms if positive when entering our program): Microchipped prior to adoption
BREEDS:Â We are not breed experts. The breed(s) listed for each adoptable are best guesses or suggestions.
PLEASE NOTE: We are a non-profit organization without municipal or government funding. Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption.
Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care. As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property.
***If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance and local adaptability. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 1.5 hours driving distance.
