Personality: snuggler, energetic, playful, outgoing, goofy/funny, rambunctious, mischievous, loyal, smart, and affectionate.

Andre absolutely loves people - his favorite place to be is on your lap or in your arms. He'll frequently wiggle his back into you to get nice and comfy, and he loves neck and belly scratches. It is also cute to see how much Andre loves his toys. He'll cuddle next to you on the couch and chew on his favorite dragon toy. At other times, he enjoys searching through the toy box to find exactly the right toy for that moment - like tug toys for when he's feeling extra playful.

Andre is fun to take on walks! He is very curious, so he loves to take his time to sniff all of the exciting smells and other things he encounters. He's done well meeting other dogs and humans on leash, but he might enjoy a quieter area. He's making great progress with house and crate training and with learning words like "sit and "touch - offering him his favorite treat, cheese, is a good motivator! Fun-loving Andre is still in a "mouthing" phase, so for now he would do best in a home without young children. Apply today to meet this special boy!

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).

Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP,Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.

Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
