Amy Australian Shepherd Minneapolis, MN

Updated bio for Amy, known as Mocha in her foster home. Her coat is coming in nicely and the sun bleach is now gone and she is more black with copper highlights.
She is slowly coming out of her shell. She still will bark at visitors, and if they ignore her and give her time, it takes her about 20 mins to settle and be comfortable with being in the same space. Mocha absolutely LOVES to be in the lake. She and her foster doggy friend are in the lake from morning until we go in at night. She will play by herself with tug toys but if you try to play with her with them, she won't engage. She does play rough with the smaller dog in the foster home at times, but for the most part she plays well with other dogs. Loud noises scare her and when she starts to fear things, she will literally try to crawl into her foster mom's lap. She also still has the instinct to retreat when she's getting overwhelmed.
She is still working on the house training. Will average about two accidents a week, even after being outside for most of the day.
She really has come a long way and in her new home it is going to take a long time for her to feel comfortable. She would do best in a home with someone there most or all day. Her foster dad is retired and she spends her afternoons with him as she had a really hard time with so many strangers coming into foster mom's office at work.
