Meet Amelia, a two year old Kelpie/German Shepherd mix.

Amelia's journey hasn't been easy; she was abandoned by her owner at a gas station, left with only her favorite blanket. This blanket brings her comfort and a sense of security, as she adjusts to her new surroundings.

Amelia is a bit scared and uncertain, but with time, patience, and love, she will blossom into a loyal companion. She needs a gentle and understanding home where she can feel safe and start to trust again. Treats are definitely the way to Amelia's heart. She is working on overcoming trust issues that will just take time. With the staff she has opened up with at the Humane Society she is a totally different dog, wanting to play with them and dropping her ball at their feet when they aren't paying enough attention to her. She found a best friend in Buzz, a grumpy small dog, and tries her best to get him to play. She might appreciate a home with another dog.

Amelia might do best in a home without young kids for now, but that doesn't mean she wouldn't love to be around them into the future. She is a good girl with a ton of potential waiting for someone to reveal.
