SATURDAY, MARCH 22, from 12-3 PM: PET ADOPTION EVENT at the MERRIAM PETSMART located at 5810 Antioch Rd, Merriam, KS 66202. Come meet all the DOGS, CATS & PUPPIES waiting for their forever families, and let us help you find a new family member.

Check out those EARS!!! ALBERTO is a super cute Terrier mix! He is 2 years old and he weighs 42 lbs. Alberto is a beautiful boy with gorgeous coloring, pretty eyes, and those crazy ears! He's one of a kind! Alberto is a sweet and friendly boy. He's good with other dogs.
The poor guy has fly strikes on his ears, indicating that he's been living outdoors and tied up.
No surprise then, that Alberto tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get him into a home during his treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about his heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering him (we’d love to find him a foster home!). Once his treatment plan is completed, Alberto will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions!
ADOPTING A PET
We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend. We are also open Monday through Friday by appointment. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at petadoptions@kckpd.org to schedule your appointment during weekdays.
If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match.
Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older).
