Meet Abba Humbracht

This bouncy ball of goof is Abba. She is a 2 year old Lab looking for a committed foster or adopter via Celestial Zoo Pet Rescue .

Abba was surrendered by her family in February. She had just weaned a litter of 7 puppies. Abba was in boarding with Wasatch Canine Camp from February to May. With little interest in her she was placed into a training program which she has been part of since. May.

I will be honest, Abba is not an easy dog. She is going to need a very committed home who is going to stay on top of her behavior and training. Abba is a very fun, silly dog and she is sure to make you laugh. Previous to starting training Abba was very reactive to other dogs and was very hard to manage, she lacked impulse control and would get herself wound up and express that through reactivity. Over the course of her training Abba has become much more manageable and has learned great relaxation skills. That being said she still can over stimulate quickly and needs a handler that can help her work through that before it manifests into reactivity. She often has a blast playing with other dogs but has also struggled with going after dogs from time to time. I do think Abba could live with another dog (her previous home has a male lab) but there would need to be management in place to start to help them succeed with each other. Muzzle management around other dogs will be vital. She needs another confident and moderate to high energy dog. She does tend to struggle more with dogs who are timid or calm. I could see her being a bit of a bully is a dog let's her throw her weight around. She is very playful with the right dog buddies.

Abba will come with advanced private training for whoever takes her into their home. It is important to us to ensure her future family knows how to handle her. She is a truly amazing and fun dog when she has the right structure in place. She loves to play with her people both in personal play and toys. She is very affectionate and food motivated. She loves the water and enjoys bouncing around in our kiddy pools. She will likely need some potty training help in a home. She was an outside dog and has lived in a kennel environment for 6 months.

Abba would likely do well in a home with kids over the age of 10. I think she would just be too excited for younger children in the home and she can be a little mouthy when she gets excited. She needs a home with no cats or small animals.

During her training Abba has learned the following:
Sit
Down
Stay
Place
Come
Heel
Loose leash walking
Pressure release on leash
Multiple relaxation exercises
Ecollar training for obedience/recall/and as an interpreter for her reactivity.
Training between the ears name and explain for reactivity and handling.
Manners with play, including waiting for a toy and an out command
Crate trained
Door Manners
Polite Greetings
Muzzle Conditioning

Abba's adoption will come with the following:
Free training sessions with the owner (potentially unlimited)
Access to socialization classes through Wasatch Canine Camp
Group classes through Wasatch Canine Camp
Pack walks through Wasatch Canine Camp
Monthly practice class through Wasatch Canine Camp
Food (whatever she has left)
Ecollar
Leash
Muzzle
Bark collar

Abba truly has so much potential in the right home but we know she is a big ask for any family to take in. If you think Abba would be a good fit for you as a foster or family member please text me directly at 435-633-5614. She is spayed, and up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $200, which for the right family I am willing to personally cover.

If you don't think Abba would be a good fit for you but you would like to help we are still raising money to cover his board and train program ($4,845).

Please share this girl to help her find her forever family.
