Hi! I’m Toby and I’m 2 to 3 years old and I’ve been through a lot but you’d never know because I’m a happy boy! I was abandoned by my person and dumped outside in another cat’s territory and when that happens, cats like me get beaten up. I was full of punctures and had a really high fever. Initially, I did not test positive for FIV or FeLV but 2 months into my healing, I did test positive for FIV…. That’s when my skin stuff started to happen. I’m a very itchy boy and any medication I take for itching suppresses my immune system which is bad for me because I have FIV. It would be best for me to leave the shelter so that I can have human interaction and distractions from being itchy, plus I could try different medications and be safe from sicknesses that come into the shelter. I do have to wear a t-shirt all the time so that I don’t scratch myself. I might even tolerate a medicated bath! The nice people at pac will still try and figure out my skin stuff while I’m home with you! It will likely take some time and a couple of tries on different medications until we figure out what works!
