Meet Sour Patches (in foster)
Name: Patches
Age: 15 years
Breed: Calico
Reason for being at shelter: Owner surrender - can't keep
Description: Step into my secret blanket world. It’s warm, it’s cozy, and it’s dark. It allows me to block out all the noises going on around me so I can rest and nap like a senior kitty should. Have they no respect for quiet hours and nap time around here? Sometimes people forget I’m even here because all they see is a lump of blanket. They don’t realize there is a kitty hiding underneath that pile of material. I won’t come out, but I’ll welcome you into my domain. You can pet me and hear me purr. If you are really sweet to me, I’ll let you rub my belly. You can also stroke my body and I may just decide to stand up. But then I’ll quickly crouch back down so the warm air doesn’t escape by bed. I’m not mean at all; I just can’t help the grumpy look on my face. Well, I can’t really say that. Sometimes I am grumpy. I’m old and sometimes I can be cranky. So, what? I’m really just lost and confused about being here. I can’t wait until someone adopts me and takes me home so I can resume a normal cat life again. They treat me really good here but it’s just not my home. I’m looking for a human friend who will let me nap in sunny places, so my old body stays warm. I need a human friend who understands what a senior kitty needs, a warm bed, a sunny perch, a gentle touch, and a quiet home. Is that too much to ask for? I thought you’d agree. Now come out to the shelter, lift the edge of my blanket and say hello. I look forward to meeting my next human friend.
