Meet Sophie! This shy girl came to us as a part of our TNR efforts and after a couple months in foster care, she blossomed into a snuggly companion that likes being pet and cuddling on the couch with her foster mom and foster brother (a cat). Sophie loves to play and enjoys testing out new toys with her foster brother. Sophie LOVES other cats. She immediately approaches and will rub all up on them. She will also seek head and bum pets from her foster mom and will purr and knead while you pet her. She has also learned how comfy laps are and will settle right in for some snuggles. She is still a bit skittish with strangers.

Sophie needs a very specific kind of home: patient, adult-only, quiet, and with other cats. She hasn't been around dogs, so a dog-free home is ideal.

Her ideal adopter is patient, with experience working with shy cats. She will need to start out in a crate (we can loan you one), in a spare room to allow her to adjust to her new home and family at a gradual pace. This will also allow her new human family to have easy access to her for petting and bonding. She will need to be gradually weaned out of the crate and into the spare room, then then weaned out of the spare room and into the rest of the home. This can take weeks, so patience is key. Sophie LOVES food and treats, as well as the toys that have a ball rolling on a track. These are some of the ways to her heart.

The adoption fee is $200 and includes the following: spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccines, deworming, microchip, FeLV & FIV testing, deflea and vet examination.
