The first sip of water in the morning, the scent of rain on a spring day, a pink and orange sunset - all these simple joys remind me of Sophia. With her gentle spirit and alluring personality, Sophia is a perfect match for nearly any potential adopter. When she was younger, Sophia lived in a loving foster home with her foster parents, a few other cats, and a dog. This experience led her to conclude that she would prefer to be your one and only. Despite her waiting nearly a year in that foster home to find her forever person, she didn't get the luck she deserved.

Sophia came to ACS next, where she had to rebuild her trust in people. There was still hope for her as this time she was not starting over, but starting again with previous experience. Progress was slow the first month - she spent most of her days in her hideaway, coming out only at night to eat or use the bathroom when ACS was quiet and vacant.

Fast forward to today where she enjoys lounging on her bed and sunbathing, people watching (or as I like to call it, monitoring ACS staff's quality of work), and trying to better herself day by day. The amount of progress she has made in just a few months fills me with immense hope that she will soon find her special person and a well-deserved forever home, where she can feel fully comfortable embracing her beautiful, unique self.
