Shasta Domestic Short Hair & Oriental Tabby Mix Cookeville, TN

Hey, my name is Shasta (you know, like the orange soda). I was roaming around some apartments and houses on Watauga Rd off Spring St in Cookeville for a couple of months, going up to people asking for pawsitive attention and food and stuff. Some people liked me and some didn't, but nobody said they were missing me, and nobody said I could stay and be a part of their family. So, finally this one guy who was especially kind to me and kept worrying about me contacted Ms Tana to come and get me. He wanted to make sure I didn't get hit by a car or anything else to get hurt or end up dead. He also didn't want me to end up sick, continue fighting with other unaltered males, or keep finding girlfriends making more kittens, which is the last thing the world needs around here.

So, Ms Tana came with a secure pet carrier, and after much protest by me, they finally got me into that thing (it smelled like unfamiliar places & other animals, so I was very wary of it), and she took me home with her. A few days later, I had to go back into the carrier (not so bad this time) and go to the clinic where I was neutered, rabies & fvrcp vaccinated, had revolution applied, had a microchip implanted, and had a combo test done. Turns out I am FIV positive. I will definitely need a strictly indoor only home. FIV positives can be only cats, can live with other FIV positive cats, or can live with negative cats/any cats as long as they do not aggressively fight. FIV positive cats can & most often do live normal healthy & long lives as long as indoor only, prompt vet check & treatment if ever not acting normal self, & kept up with annual regular health maintenance vetting.

The bottom line is that I am a super sweet & affectionate boy. I am hoping to find my purrfect placement with a purrson or family who will welcome me into their home and treat me like a precious family member furever. I will be your best buddy and paw-pal. Will you be the one to give me a chance? It could be meant to be. Oh, and I have a very triangular shaped head so it is very likely that I have some Oriental or Siamese in my background.
