Meet Sage - Injured - Needs Medical Care
She is in a confined space in a foster home while she gains weight (she is only two pounds) and to let her spine and pelvis heal as much as possible. In about a month, it will be determined how to deal with her leg, but we are told it will probably need to be amputated.
She is otherwise doing well, has a wonderful attitude, and is extremely affectionate.
This will be an expensive surgery and we hope to get enough donations to offset the cost. Anything we receive beyond the amount needed for her care will go into our special veterinary fund, which is used to help cats and dogs coming to us that need extraordinary medical services.
If you donate, thank you! And please note that this is for Sage.
UPDATE! Sage's pelvis is realigning, and her spine is growing new bone. She will still need the shattered pieces of the ball of her femur (where it goes into the hip) removed, and it is undetermined whether she will be able to keep her leg. Her attitude is great, and she is getting out a little to exercise so her muscles do not atrophy. More news to come in about a month!
UPDATE: Sage is still on the mend. Her femur is bonding but there is still some concern about the hip socket area. Next visit in a few weeks. In the meantime, she gets lots of exercise. Although she is 'crooked', she gets around very well!

We have lots of nice kittens and cats! So, through September, all of the shelter cats and kittens are $50 off their regular adoption fee! On top of that, it is a great time to double the fun, since there is an additional 20% off if you adopt two at the same time.

When adopted, all of our cats and kittens have been spayed/neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV. Their vaccinations are current, they have been treated for fleas and worms, they are ID chipped and they have had a wellness check by our veterinarian.
At this time, our adoption process is primarily by appointment only. However, we are ‘open’ to visitors on Saturdays. If Saturdays don’t work for you, let us know! We are happy to arrange an appointment on other days of the week, or in the evening, if it will help you connect with your next best furry friend. If you are considering adopting, PLEASE COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION PRIOR TO MAKING AN APPOINTMENT. This will help to make the process easier and faster.
If you are not sure of which cat or kitten you might want to select, just indicate 'adult cat' or 'kitten', or ‘undecided’. To access our Adoption Form visit: https://www.northbeachpaws.org/copy-of-available-cats.
Please contact our adoption coordinator at 360-660-4658 or via email at nbpawscats@gmail.com if you have questions about the process, or one of our cats or kittens. Please LIKE us on our Facebook page at NORTH BEACH PAWS. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
