Meet Sabrina (Egypt)

Meet Sabrina!

Sabrina is a 2 year old female currently living in Egypt. She was rescued from a cafe in Egypt where she was at risk of being hit by a car due to being blind. Her eyes were in very bad condition when she was rescued. She had her right eye removed because of this. She still has her left eye but she cannot see with it. This does not stop her at all from getting around and using her litter box.

Sabrina is an amazing cat who is so friendly and loves hugs so much. She loves attention and she is one of those cats that cares about you being with her and waits for you when you come home.

She is good with other cats and dogs.

She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, FIV/FeLV negative, and microchipped.

She will not be able to leave Egypt until she finds a home. Once she has a home lined up here in the US, she will be able to fly here. Her adoption fee is $400 to cover the costs of travel and her vet care.

**Sabrina is now part of our international cat rescue mission, which has become even more urgent as the number of cats brought into Egypt continues to rise. Many of these cats are fleeing dangerous situations and seeking refuge.

In Egypt, pet shops are common, where kittens like Boudy—often purebreds such as Persians and Himalayans—are sold for profit.

Cats in Egypt face a harsh reality. Strays roam the streets, enduring extreme temperatures, limited food, and the constant threat of illness and injury. Without proper care, many struggle to survive. Despite their resilience, these cats often go unnoticed and are left to fend for themselves in an environment that offers little support. Cultural attitudes toward animals can also contribute to neglect, making it harder for these cats to get the help they need.

Rescue organizations play a crucial role in providing care, medical treatment, and adoption opportunities, offering these cats a chance at a better life. With Egypt's overpopulation of stray animals, rescue efforts are vital to reduce suffering and ensure the welfare of these cats. Additionally, Egypt's strategic location as a transit point for rescued animals—especially those from conflict zones like Syria and Lebanon—makes it a key hub for international rescue efforts. These efforts are essential in giving these cats the opportunity they deserve for a better life.**
