Ruthie is a 5-year-old sassy sweetie looking for her forever home!

Ruthie has a big personality and is looking for a forever home where she can let that shine. In the three weeks that Ruthie has been in a foster home, her personality has ranged from being very sweet and affectionate to preferring to have some alone space. In the morning, she cuddles on her foster mom's lap, purrs, and makes biscuits. She sleeps on her foster parents bed and cuddles with us at night. Other times of the day, her body language conveys that she’d prefer some space, and as long as her wishes are respected, Ruthie stays friendly and happy. Even when she's not in the mood to be petted, she always wants to be in the same room with her favorite people, and gets really excited to see them when they come home.

Ruthie’s hobbies include surveying the living room from the top of her cat house, watching birds and rabbits from the windows, and following her humans around. She likes to cram herself into her cat house so only her head is sticking out. She cracks her fosters up when she does that. Ruthie loves to play with a wand toy, and also chases ping pong balls and crinkly balls. Sometimes she gets the zoomies and runs around the house.

Ruthie is currently living in a house with two humans, no children, and no other animals. Because of her hot and cold attitude toward petting, she'll do best in a home with patient owners who are willing to respect her boundaries, give her affection on her terms, and take the time to learn what she needs to feel more comfortable. For this reason, we don't think she would do well with young children. She also might not be a good ""first cat"" for someone because of her mercurial personality, but she would be a great companion for someone who's used to cats who are cuddly sometimes and need more space at other times.

Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits
