Meet Rosa - Kosovo

Meet Rosa! A good samaritan rescued her from the streets of Kosovo. She is traveling back to America with her and hoping to find her a forever home here. She is up to date on vaccines, spayed, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. She is good with other cats and kids, but unsure about dogs.

Here is what her finder has to say about her:
"Rosa, the cat in question, is estimated to be about 6 years old and she is an absolute love bug. Until a couple of months ago, Rosa was living outside in a rural village in Kosovo and undoubtedly had many litters of kittens, all while fending for herself. When I first saw Rosa, she was very pregnant and very malnourished, but I was later able to rescue her and her four kittens. Ultimately, I was able to find homes for all four kittens, but I am now looking for a home for Rosa, which she very much deserves.

As a bit of background, Kosovo is a poor country and there are zero resources for the huge number of stray cats (and dogs) that roam the streets here. The government does not fund any shelters and for cultural reasons, people don't really have pets. That has resulted in thousands, if not millions, of strays being forced to live on the streets in absolutely dismal conditions. When I first crossed paths with Rosa, I recognized that she was far too friendly and sweet to be put back on the streets and have made it my mission to get her adopted. Because I have two rescue cats of my own and also personally foster both cats and dogs, I cannot keep her. But she would be a phenomenal pet and would absolutely thrive in a forever home. I know this is outside of the work you normally do, but I am trying to give Rosa the best possible chance to find a home.

Rosa is a pretty self-sufficient cat (I think she would be ok as an only cat, but also has been fine with my other cats). She mostly loves to find a sunbeam to nap in and enjoy the good life (aka, getting fed and receiving pets, rather than having to survive on her own in the wild). She is really friendly with everyone she meets and I think she would adjust easily into any household! She is fully vaccinated, micro-chipped, spayed, and doesn't have any behavioural issues."
