Meet Romeo

Meet Romeo!! Boy oh boy does he live up to his "lover boy" namesake's reputation. Romeo loves pets and treats, doesn't have much interest in toys, and after he warms up will come greet you for ear scritchies and cuddles. He does totally fine by himself for extended stretches of time so he's a great cat for someone who works long hours but still wants to be greeted by their biggest fan and best friend at the front door when they come home.

Romeo's perfect home is with someone who will be patient with him since he's still learning how to "be a cat" after being rescued from a hoarding situation. He's between 1-2 years old (young adult) and does well with kittens, female cats, and most male cats. He was bullied by some of the dominant male cats in his previous home, but he's a lover, not a fighter, so he "doesn't want the smoke" but will just hide if he's feeling threatened. His previous owners were in a bad situation and unfortunately they- along with 14 cats- lived in a trash filled, condemned hotel room. Despite this rough start on life, Romeo is still happy to be held, cuddled, and will only become more and more affectionate and comfortable in a loving home where he will finally be allowed to feel safe.

He's never met a dog that we know of but based on his temperament think he could coexist with calm, well-mannered doggy friends.

Romeo is estimated to be 1-2 years old, is neutered is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and in great health! He does a great job of keeping his litterbox tidy. All he needs now is his forever home!
