Meet Roadie
Meet Roadie! Roadie has been in the care of UCCR since 5/2/2023 when he was rescued along the side of Hwy 97 in the lower Yakima Valley after being tossed out of the window of a traveling car. He sustained several injuriies to his body including a broken tail, which has healed well, however he also incurred injuries to his brain which make him a bit unique and special. If you spend any time with Roadie you will notice that he looks at you differently and isn't your "typical" cat. We aren't certain if he has physical feeling in his tail and have speculated that he could be hard of hearing or possibly deaf; for this reason he would be considered a special needs feline. Roadie may require more patience than your average cat because of his little oddities. Nevertheless, don’t let this scare you! Roadie has no problem using his cat box, being frisky and wanting to play and explore, sleeping in his hammock, and getting excited over a plate of canned cat food or kibble. He is very curious and loves to follow people around and also be in the spotlight. He is a true lovebug. We've observed Roadie with other cats and he has behaved well but are unsure of Roadie with dogs or young children. We estimate Roadie to be around three years of age. He is neutered and vaccinated.
If you are interested in meeting Roadie, please submit an inquiry through PetFinder with questions or to schedule a time to meet, or visit our website at uccryakima.org (http://uccryakima.org/) and click on "adoption application" if you think Roadie is the one for you! Please remember that rescue cats have a past and will need someone to be patient and kind with them as they settle in to their new home. We would be more than happy to help educate and provide advice through the rehoming process.
