Rivers is a five-year-old Siamese male. With his curious blue eyes and double shot iced latte Venti fur pattern, he is gorgeous in every light possible. True to Siamese, Rivers is very chatty and loves having conversations. Rivers absolutely loves to be held, 100% lap cat material. He absolutely loves being on any lap and demonstrates a very docile nature with people, constantly vying for scritches and pets. He is extremely shy and will need someone willing to spend weeks earning his affection. We have seen firsthand what he can be like if given a fair chance and it is a beautiful thing when he finally warms up. Rivers requires a single pet household and a quiet and calm life. His ideal family would be a retired couple/individual with the time to dedicate to working with him or a work from home couple or individual with a tendency to be a bit more introverted.

When asked what his life goals are, Rivers replied, “I want as loving family and to finally catch that red dot!”

The Chesapeake Rescue Alliance Foster-to-Adopt program gives families more flexibility for more challenging adoptions through extending the probationary period, allowing you and your family time to decide if Rivers is right for you. Due to Rivers being a foster to adopt case, we are limiting our adoption radius to people living within a 100 mile radius of the Southern Maryland area.

Who are we?

Chesapeake Rescue Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our cats are vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and tested for FeLV, FIV, and Heartworm disease before being placed in carefully selected homes.

We are foster–based, meaning we do not have a facility. All of our cats are in foster homes in the Southern Maryland area. Our goal is to protect animals in the Chesapeake Bay area and beyond. We connect animals in need to safe homes and facilitate their access to quality veterinary care. Our rescue also provides trap-neuter-return, education, and outreach services to support the well-being of animals within the community at-large. This organization emphasizes transparency and integrity while providing educational resources to support the humane treatment of animals.
