Cat located in this city: Mount Dora will deliver to Orlando if needed.
Cat’s Name: Riley -
Cat’s Age & Sex: 2.5 years Female spayed
Cat’s vetting history: Spayed with all shots due for DTP in June/July. No fleas. Chemical free Kitty, I do shower her to keep her fresh.
She is also microchipped.
Animals story: My neighbor's cat had a litter and I went to pick one out. Now I have health issues and can't keep up with care, plus I am relocating where she would not be comfortable. I’m hoping to find her a fabulous home.
Personality: She likes to rest on your chest for a petting session, then she rolls over onto your shoulder so you can cuddle and pet her at the same time. I have a water fountain for her but she will not drink out of it. She 'purrfurs' filtered kitchen sink water from a cup and then she drinks from the cup. But I would like her to learn to use the pet fountain. She drinks more at night. She hates wet food, but I have learned how important it is for cats to have it daily from this cat rescue lady, and hope the new owner can get her eating it daily (and by limiting the dry food),
Riley likes looking out window. she is an indoor cat. If you have a screen porch balcony great. She likes guys. And does not act up with any company. At night sometime she will attack your feet with each step when you need to go to your cat box. This stops when you love on her (play) at least twice a day for only 15- 20 minutes.
Any Supplies that go with pet (food, litter, leash, cat box, bedding, toys): All of it. Cat carrier too. I year of dry IAMS cat food (but we hope new owner can start giving wet food daily), 3 months of unscented non-clumping clay litter. toys, box. .,.
What food is the cat eating (dry only, dry and wet): Dry only. She has a preference of me filling a small plate for her every morning HOWEVER, I just learned why cats need wet food given daily and I really hope the new owner can start limiting the dry food and give her more and more wet food. More on this below.
:::::::::::Please know that cats need canned wet food given DAILY. Why? Because cats have a low thirst drive and actually NEED the moisture from the wet food! Wet food is 75 % water (dry FOOD only 10%) and giving them wet food daily will help them avoid Urinary tract issues (which can lead to litter box avoidance), kidney disease, obesity issues linked to diabetes and cardiac issues. You will save on vet bills too! Limit the overly processed dry food and ensure cat eats all the wet food daily:::::::::::: More info here: FurryNationSalvation.Org/wetfood
IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT:
1) Please show up with a cat carrier - No need- she will be in her cat carrier.
2) Small adoption fee of: $35
3) I will call/text one month from adoption day just to make sure everything is going well
4) Please show up with your Driver's License.
5) Information sheet will be filled out (your information as well as mine)
*Please know, that when you bring your newly adopted cat or kitten home, it is always BEST to place him/her in a very small room (bathroom works great) with their litter box, food, water, and bed for a few days to a few weeks. This way the animal can adjust much quicker and get acclimated to the new environment with less stress. All cats/kittens need time to adjust, so if you adopt please allow this. Thank you.
