Meet PUNKIN (FIV+/Neutered!)

According to the previous owner who surrendered this cat in early August 2024, PUNKIN is great with kids, very sweet and calm. The cage card indicates an age of one and a half years and PUNKIN has a medium length fur coat that is black with a brown tint that is quite beautiful. He was being considered for transport to an out-of-state nonprofit animal group but tested positive for FIV on October 15, 2024. As a result, he cannot make the trip. However, testing positive for FIV does not mean that he will not have a normal life. His immune system may be compromised and he will need to be treated promptly if he develops any infections over the course of his life just as any other cat would need to be treated. So, do not let that deter you if you have fallen in love with this adorable, wonderful male cat. Thanks to a partnership between UT and Cumberland County Animal Shelter, PUNKIN was neutered on Monday, October 21, 2024. As a result, he can go home the same day that he is adopted! Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes taking an adult cat carrier with you to the adoption appointment in case you do decide to adopt PUNKIN. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have just adopted! Safety first!
