Puddy Domestic Short Hair Wells, ME

This is Puddy, a five-year old handsome kitty who was surrendered recently due to not getting along with the other kitty in the family. So Puddy is confused, depressed, and just doesn't understand why his life has turned upside down.
This dear fellow is doing his best, and so are our volunteers to help him acclimate to life at Safe Haven. He has now started to come out of the safety of his enclosure in our common room but still prefers to retreat back to the enclosure when the other cats in the room become too active.
Puddy's best match for a happy home is as an only pet with a family that will give him some time to understand he is recovering from being "abandoned" in his eyes. We know cat owners many times do their best to prevent their cats from being surrendered, but many cats are surrendered nonetheless . And many times when they do, the cat suffers a shock of fear, depression, anxiety, and confusion. Safe Haven's teams work very hard and effectively to encourage new kitties to come forward when they are ready. They offer soft voices, gentle encouragement, special treats and words of encouragement. Eventually the kitty snaps out of it's depression and allows their personality to emerge.
Puddy is coming along. But we wish to move him forward into a new home where he can live forever!
