POPPY Domestic Short Hair & Bombay Mix Huntington, NY

Sweet Poppy, our gorgeous solid black panther has had a difficult few months. She was abandoned outside with her housemates in the cold and had to survive on the streets. She is very resilient and has remained very sweet through it all, even if she's scared and unsure. She loves being pet and does elevator butt when you pet her back. She is very sweet with other cats and will head bump them and be very affectionate. She appreciates a soft voice and a gentle touch as she gains more confidence being in a new place. She often has her tongue sticking out just a tiny bit. She recently had a dentistry to clean her teeth and remove a broken tooth so she's feeling so much better! She loves treats and it's an easy way to win her over. She sticks by the side of her older friend, Uncle Teddy, with whom she was rescued. She relies on other cats like him for confidence that us humans are safe to trust. Black cats are notoriously overlooked so we hope someone will appreciate her beautiful coat and gentle personality, and that she won't have to wait long to find humans to call her own.
