How can it be that we have so many beautiful cats like Penelope without homes? Penelope is a beautiful calico kitty currently available for adoption. She is a 2 year old Calico Persian Cat that is just one of the many (there are now over 200) cats that are part of our international cat rescue mission! This rescue mission has become critical as the conflicts in the Middle East are increasing the number of cats being brought into Egypt by rescues who are fleeing Lebanon and Syria for safety!

Penelope has a similar story to her "twin" Pixie, when our rescue partner in Egypt was called by a veterinarian because a person left Penelope behind and never returned. Thankfully the family did one thing in her favor by not leaving her on the streets as so many do! She was able to be moved into our rescue partner's foster home before anything horrific happened to her.

Penelope has an excellent disposition and can go to a home with cats, children, and dogs. She has interacted with each in her current foster home in Cairo, Egypt!

Penelope as all the cats are thoroughly vetted prior to adoption including spay/neuter surgery, fully vaccinated (rabies and distemper), blood tested negative for FIV and FLeV, microchipped and treated for all parasites.

We read every application that is submitted and it can take us 2-4 days to respond to most applicants. If we believe you may be a potential match for the cat(s) we will respond to you via email. This email will detail all the next steps required in order for you to be officially approved as an adopter. Our email can easily be flagged as spam/junk so please check those folders for our response.

We will ask all potential adopters who pass the first step to submit/complete the following;
-2+ personal references
-1+ veterinary reference
-home interior photos/videos
-your pet policy from the apartment management or landlord (if you rent)
-1+ alternative caretaker(s) identified for the cat
-schedule a phone interview with a member of our team

*General inquiries about any cat cannot be responded to without an application submitted first. If the cat is on petfinder.com the cat is still available.

Adoption fee is non-negotiable.

What your (tax deductible) adoption fee/donation covers:

Spay/Neuter surgery
Full vaccinations (2 x distemper/FVRCP and feline rabies)
Blood Tests - FIV, FLeV, Heartworm, in some cases additional blood work
Anti-Parasitics - all cats are dewormed, treated for fleas/ticks, ear mites.
Microchipped - All cats have a registered microchip
Travel Passes/Fees- the adoption fee also pays for the cat's travel
*Please keep in mind that a majority of the cats for adoption from the Middle East were found in terrible health condition, some requiring extensive veterinary care and/or surgery. We do not increase the adoption fee despite the additional funds used to rehabilitate these cats.

*You may see our cats posted on petfinder or other adoption sites with our rescue partners in Canada and Europe as we are all working together to find great homes for these cats. If the cat is still on petfinder.com he/she is available.
