Peekaboo Tortoiseshell Parkville, MO

Hi! My name is Peekaboo. I was a stray cat living on my own (which is not a lot of fun because you have to eat bugs and watch out for predators and cars), but I eventually found my way to a friendly neighborhood in Platte City. The people living there cared for me for many months. Whenever I got hungry, I just chose a house to go up to and “peeked” in the window or door (thus the name “Peekaboo”). They would feed me enough that I didn’t have to catch birds, mice, or bugs! But then it started to get cold, so when I played “Peekaboo,” I was also hoping to come inside out of the cold. Unfortunately, all the neighbors had pets of their own, so they contacted a shelter. They all thought I was friendly enough to get adopted!

I really like the shelter and the people here! They care for me just like my old neighborhood did, except that now I am inside where it is warm! However, what I really want is a forever home to call my own. I’m shy at first, but once you start petting me, I’m your friend for life. I loved the little dogs at one of the houses that fed me, but I would need a slow introduction (just in case) if you have an inside dog. I would also need a slow introduction to other cats, because I was a bit of a loner in my previous life. Because I’m on the shy side, a quieter home without small children would be best. Please stop by the shelter and take a “peek” at me. I don’t have to play “Peekaboo” anymore to get food, but if you like that game, I am willing to play it for fun (and any games involving string toys)!
