Meet Paulette! Paulette is one of our most heartbreaking cases in a long time. She got her leg tangled up in some sort of barbed wire. It became so badly infected that eventually her paw quite literally fell off. Thankfully, the good folks at Barnes Mill were able to save her life and nurse her back to health. Paulette did unfortunately lose her leg, but that didn't stop her from bouncing back to being a little ball of energy and sweetness.

Paulette doesn't seem to bear any grudges about her past experiences. She is super sweet and affectionate. When her roommate is getting attention, she'll paw at our arms to make sure we know she wants some, too. She is energetic and agile, and will dart right out of her kennel while we're cleaning if we aren't careful. She takes a minute to warm up to new roommates, but once they've settled in, she accepts them and will play with them. She loves being held and kissed. She can run, play, and climb like any other cat. Sometimes she'll even rear up on her one back leg for a treat or toy. Above all else, this girl LOVES cat teasers. She'll run across the room and tackle whoever is in her way to get to one. Once she has it, she'll try to yank it out of our hands and drag it back to her kennel like the good little huntress she is. Paulette is a super spunky girl who doesn't let anything hold her back.

Paulette does well with the other cats at the center when she's out and about. We think she would be okay with gentle kids. She has not been tested with dogs.

Due to the infection that ravaged her system, Paulette has some issues with blood in her urine. She needs to take a steroid pill every other day. However, she is one of the easiest cats we've ever had to pill - she swallows it without any complaint at all.

Paulette is estimated to be about 7 months old as of December 2023. She has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. With an approved application, her adoption fee is $53.
