Patches Domestic Short Hair & Calico Mix Cookeville, TN

Hi, my name is Patches. I was living in a feral colony of about 30 cats when I was trapped in March 2022. I was in heat when I was spayed so had to be kept inside so not around any intact males for about two weeks after my surgery. During that two weeks, I decided I kind of liked being inside, even if I was in a cage. I got fresh clean water all the time, regular food every day, including wet/canned food every night. I got used to seeing a lot of other new kitties around, and the lady who gave me the water & food. She also kept my litter box cleaned out. I started talking to her whenever I would see her, and finally one day I decided to allow her to touch me. I was nervous, but she was super gentle and nice and talked to me like she did when she fed me. After a few days of this, before I knew it, I was really looking forward to her petting me. I even purred and rubbed my head against her hand so she knew I wanted more of the tlc attention.

I got to the point that I really wanted to play with the other kitties outside my cage. So, the lady eventually opened the cage doors and let me come out to interact with the other cats without cage bars between us. It went really well with most of them. Some of them did not like it because I ran right up to them and wanted to be best friends with every single one of them. I guess a few of them were not as anxious about it as I was, and they warned me to keep my distance from them. So, I learned which ones were good playmates and cuddle buddies and which ones kind of had bad cattitudes sometimes.

Anyway, I would be really scared in a new place at first, but if you are a cat experienced person and know how to deal with that -- giving me a "safe place/base camp" small area in your home first and then gradually working on things from there, I believe I would be a great mew fur family member for you. I MUST have at least one other kitty friend though. I am capable of getting along with more than one if they will coopurrate and do the same with me. I LOVE playing and I LOVE feline friends. I am a tentative girl about being loved on, but when I decide the time is right, I LOVE that too. I'm a very young adult with a lot of time to fit in with you, your home, & your life better & better with every year that passes. Please give me a chance!
