Meet Oppenheimer
Oppenheimer is finally ready for adoption!
This poor fella was found on Lafayette ULL's campus back in August in horrible condition. He had a flea collar stuck around his neck and between his jaws which prevented him from being able to eat, drink, or groom himself. He was severely underweight and missing large amounts of hair.
Over the past few months, he's made an amazing recovery! Thankfully, the collar didn't leave any significant damage to his jaw or mouth, and he can use it perfectly fine now. He has a great appetite and has finally reached a good, healthy weight. The only thing left is for his hair to grow back completely. There are no more bald spots; it'll just take some time for his long, luscious locks to come in. He's already a very handsome man, but once his fur is at full length, he's going to be GORGEOUS.
Opp is a big ol' love bug and an absolute attention hog! He's constantly cuddling up with his foster parents to be petted and pampered. He's the star of the show and has the personality to match!
He's also VERY vocal. He'll sing you the songs of his people, tell you epic stories of his past, and let you know all of his opinions about life. He even talks when he's grooming himself which results in the funniest little grumbly sounds.
While Oppenheimer is a joy around people, he unfortunately does not like other cats and must be the only cat in the house. Oddly enough though, he does get along quite well with the dogs in his foster home! Naturally, it took an extensive introduction period for Opp to get used to the dogs, but at this point, they will happily hangout together in the same room without any fuss. He'll even head-bonk and rub up against his 80 lb Poodle foster-brother!
