Nate needs donations! Domestic Short Hair Madison, TN

Nate is a sweet brown and white tabby boy who was rescued from the parking lot of the Madison PetSmart. He was walking down the sidewalk in front of the store when he was found. Nate had starved nearly to death and could barely walk. Once he was safe inside, Nate began eating small meals at a time, several times a day, to help his body recover from the starvation. Nate had a recent vet visit. Our vet believes that he is about ten years old and his teeth are in terrible shape, which causes so much pain that it is hard for him to eat. Nate's bloodwork showed that he is FIV positive and had mycoplasma, a type of blood parasite.

Nate had been near starvation for so long that we assumed he was female because he had no testicles. However, after two months of eating well, his testicles descended. Nate was neutered at our full service vet, had his vaccines and his bloodwork is now normal. We estimate that his follow-up dental care will cost at least $1800 total.
