Meet Moonshine AAR (bonded to Hennessy AAR)

Hennessy and Moonshine lived on a man's farm property in West Virginia with their siblings Bailey, Whiskey, and Tequila. They were living outdoors and Moonshine suffered frostbite on his ears during a cold snap. The man contacted a rescue organization in West Virginia that put him in touch with a small rescue in Maryland that could take the cats. They were fostered and provided veterinary care, which included the removal of Moonshine's ears' damaged tissue. During a routine physical, the vet detected a heart murmur in Hennessy. The rescue successfully rehomed their siblings, but potential adopters were put off by Hennessy's heart condition. Because Hennessy and Moonshine have a special relationship and need to be adopted together, the rescue asked 4Paws to take them hoping the boys could find a forever home if they were placed into a larger rescue.
Hennessy and Moonshine are friendly, cuddly boys that love cats and people. Moonshine is very clownish, a little clumsy, and likes napping under furniture. He has been known to hold a kitten down for a few minutes of "involuntary grooming. Hennessy is more outgoing than Moonshine and will roll around soliciting pets. He likes napping on window sills and in heated beds. Hennessy and Moonshine are still young (estimated birth date 09/17/2023) and love playing with other young cats and kittens. They were also both curious about their foster's large dog. They are both submissive and consider other animals as friends so should do great in a multi-pet home. They would also both do great with kids of all ages but are rather large so younger children should be supervised in case they try to pick them up.
Hennessy's heart murmur is managed with an inexpensive daily medication, which he takes like a champ. The cardiologist recommends his annual check-up include a visit to a cardiologist to monitor the heart murmur in case the medication needs to be adjusted. The two have been neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and vaccinated against rabies and distemper.
