Meet Missy
THIS GENTLE GIANT LOVES PEOPLE!
THE BASICS:
· DMH, tortoiseshell
· SENIOR FEMALE; EST. DOB: March 7, 2011
· ARRIVAL: February 24, 2022
· HISTORY: Missy was adopted from us in 2021 but returned several months later due to her feeling threatened by another cat in the home.
Missy is one of the sweetest, most loving cats at Caring For Creatures. If you come pay her a visit she will happily rub up against you, her cat condo, and anything else nearby. She really enjoys being petted and scratched by people, however she isn’t much of a fan of other cats, particularly other females. With the right introduction she may be able to peacefully exist in a multi-cat home, but we think she will do best as an only cat. Don’t let her large size fool you! Missy loves to exercise and play, especially with feather toys. She’s still a bit reserved, but with a little time, attention and care we are confident that she’ll settle nicely into a new home. Head over to caringforcreatures.org and fill out an adoption application if you’d like to meet this wonderful girl!
Update May 2023: Missy is one of the sweetest, most loving cats at Caring For Creatures. If you come pay her a visit she will happily rub up against you, her favorite cat tree, and anything else nearby. She really enjoys attention and pets from people. She has made it clear that she’s more interested in relaxing than playing. Although, every once in a while Missy enjoys a burst of energy while playing with a feather wand! Missy tends to keep to herself, relaxing by one of the windows or in her favorite cat tree. She does not tend to have direct interactions with the other cats in the Senior Room. However you may find a napping Sonney or Suzie B. nearby and she seems to tolerate them in her space. Missy takes a while to settle into a new space. Though with a little time, at- tention and care we are confident that she’ll settle nicely into a new home. With the right introduction she may be able to peacefully exist in a multi-cat home, but we think she would do best as an only cat.
Fall 2022 Update: "I love Missy's chubby cheeks and her broad, wide face. Don't tell her but I also love her slightly fuller figured physique," comments one of our cat volunteers. Missy is such a good sport and yes, I too am drawn to this exquisite lady. Missy loves meeting and greeting humans and to this end, you can count on finding her on the shelf near the front door of her room. This location also affords her a great view of folks coming and going from our busy office area. With no emerging health concerns, Missy is in good form to enjoy the pretty fall colors and cooler outside temps.
