Meet Minnie
Minnie, the pint-sized sister of Aurora and Sully is ready to find her furever family! She is the true meaning of “tiny but mighty” She and her siblings arrived to our rescue at 10 weeks old, but they were half the size they should have been, due to a high parasite load and not receiving proper nutrition early in life. Little Minnie, being the smallest of her siblings at 0.6 pounds, was anemic and needed syringe feeding to keep up her strength. Through it all, she ate with gusto- even from a syringe - and looked at her worried foster mom as if to say, “Why do you look so worried? I’m fine!”
She turned 5 months old on 2/23/23 and weighs a whopping 2.8 pounds! (A normal kitten her age weighs in the 5 pound range.) Minnie has had bloodwork and an ultrasound to make sure there wasn’t an underlying problem and both tests came back in the normal range. She was most likely having trouble absorbing nutrients while her intestines were recovering from her rough start, but a prescription kitten food is helping with that. She is now parasite free, gaining weight, playing and snuggling, which is such a joy to see! She’s a beautiful miracle, and peep her gorgeous green/blue eyes and calico-tortie fur! She’s a Tortieco!!
Minnie loves the adult cats in her foster home and we think she would really enjoy being a little sister to a lonely kitty who needs a sidekick. Come meet our Minnie and fall in love!!
