Meet MIDNIGHT
MIDNIGHT is a 1 year old domestic short hair Tabby taken in as an injured cat on 1/19/24. At first, it was believed that she had a bird stuck in her mouth, but it turns out that Midnight's tongue was injured, had become dead tissue and fell out. Touch and go at first, she was put on antibiotics, given fluids and was on a liquid diet for a few weeks. Midnight has improved and is able to eat canned pate cat food. It's easiest for her to eat if the food is made into a pyramid. She is a very messy eater. To ensure Midnight remains hydrated, she receives sub-q fluids twice daily. Without a tongue, she can't groom herself and this has made her pull her fur out in clumps. We placed Midnight in the free roam room in the hopes that another cat might befriend her to the point that she/he would groom Midnight, but that hasn't panned out yet. In the meantime, we have dressed her in a pet shirt, which helped some and we've tried a prescription. But she did best when she was living in a foster home. While in foster care, Midnight's fur began growing in more than she was pulling it out. For that reason, we feel it's even more important to find her forever home. Aside from Midnight being uniquely tongueless, she's absolutely sweet. She has a great purr and loves being held, particularly when receiving her IV. Midnight is also independent and can be demanding, especially vocally; sometimes her meow is astonishingly loud! Midnight's adoption fee is $70 and helps cover the cost of her spay, vaccinations, worming, monthly flea and heart worm preventive, microchip, FIV/FeLV tests and care while at CCHS.
