Meet Mia
Mia was rescued from the streets by a fellow rescuer. When rescued, we found that Mia had a BAD ear infection. The infection was treated aggressively with oral meds and ear drops, but unfortunately we didn't see much improvement. Mia's vet referred us to a specialist for a CT scan, which revealed Mia had a polyp in her ear.
Due to the size of the growth and its unknown cause, Mia had surgery to remove her entire ear canal (a surgery known as TECA- total ear canal ablation) so that the entire thing could be properly biopsied. Thankfully, there was no sign of cancer!!
Two months later, Mia is ready for her forever home. The life saving surgery caused her ear to permanently flap over- giving her a unique badge of honor. We think it gives her character and is a sign of resilience through such a difficult time. Mia is a sweet, friendly, sassy girl looking for her forever family. Mia gets along with other kitties but has never lived with dogs. She would do fine with older kids (8+).
Mia is about 7-8 years old. She is spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped, feline leukemia/FIV negative, and is current on flea/tick preventative.
