Meet Maui-Urinary Diet
Are you looking for a loyal, gentle, affectionate elder companion? Then Maui may be your purrfect match. When Maui came to AHS, we were told that he was 11, however he appears to be older. He was diagnosed with Urinary Crystals and requires a specialized diet to help him stay happy and healthy. While at AHS he gets to have his own special room where he gets to be with other feline friends who are also on the same diet. Maui is always so daPURR as he lays with his front legs crossed. He really enjoys the companionship of people and would do well in a home where he can have lots of soft cozy spots to snuggle up on, a window where he can purrch so he can soak in the sunshine when it chooses to appear and most of a loving purrson who will dote on him day in and day out.
Maui has also exhibited signs of arthritis and this was confirmed on his vet visit on 8/14/23. He received his first injection of the medication Solensia. The vet also found a mast cell tumor on his leg which the vet says are usually benign however the vet recommended that we have that removed. We are going to have that scheduled for him.
If you are interested in adopting Maui, purrlease complete our adoption application and email that to us at ahscatshelter@gmail.com. You can access the application here on Petfinder and on our website.

Purrlease ensure you have purrmission to have a cat where you live before considering adoption! We will need to see a copy of your lease agreement along with a contact number for your landlord to ensure the adoption is allowed.
All parties interested must meet *name* before adoption. If you are not living in Anchorage, you must come in to meet *name* before the adoption and make arrangements to transport him/her to your home. This is to ensure that everyone is in agreement with the adoption and that there is a purrfect connection.
AHS will also purrovide behavioral support for the transition and more to ensure that everyone feels secure with the adoption.
Our adoption agreement prohibits declawing an adopted cat, and stipulates that the cat will be returned to us if the adoption does not work out. This also applies if the adopter is no longer able to keep the cat or is able to purrovide him/her with the necessary healthcare to maintain a healthy and happy life.
For the first 30 days, cats who do not work out in their new homes may be returned for a refund or exchanged for another, more suitable, cat.
