Meet Mattingly

Hello, my furiends! Batter Up! Please welcome Mattingly to the Scruffy Paws family! One year old and full of playful kitten energy - Mattingly came to Scruffy from a large hoarding situation. While he enjoys the company of other cats, he is a competitive rookie during mealtime, often trying to steal home plate or at least the food from it. To help with this, he gets fed in a separate room. Mattingly also loves the spotlight; if you are petting another cat, he will come over and gently nudge your hand away because he is the MVP.

Mattingly is lovable and affectionate; still, loud noises and quick movements will make him nervous, but he bounces back within seconds and is once again purring and playing. Happy to plop by your side and roll over for belly rubs; Mattingly enjoys being around humans and will seek you out for pets, and be prepared for lots of drooly purrs! He can be picked up but gets wiggly in your arms. Feathery wands, ball tracks, and catnip mice are his thing...and he will carry around a jingly mouse in his mouth while quietly chirping to himself. Mattingly has a unique quality - his lil overbite, and he can't help but always stick out his tongue! Recently, Mattingly has found his meow, and if old-school wrestler Ric Flair was a kitten, it'd sound like Mattingly. So, if you are cooking dinner, expect to hear a little "Meow-oooo" at your feet.

Mattingly is learning boundaries from the resident cats in his foster home, and he should go to a family with another confident cat. He has not been around dogs or other animals, so we are unsure how he would be with them. Children 10 and older would be best for Mattingly.

Thank you for being so interested in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If you see this post, we still accept applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). Please refrain from emailing us regarding availability.

All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies, and distemper vaccinations, proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing, flea treatment, deworming, and an exam by a licensed veterinarian.

Our shelter hours are by appointment only and are not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are located in foster homes. An adoption application MUST be submitted and approved before meeting our cats/kittens. We do this for the safety of our fosters and potential adopters.
