Matilda Domestic Short Hair Mix West Milford, NJ

Matilda was born at our shelter about three and a half years ago. This adorable tuxie girl was adopted as a young kitten, along with her sister Talula, but was later released to us when her owner could no longer care for them. Matilda is shy, but will accept your hand for petting if you approach her slowly. She even purrrrs!

We placed her in a temporary foster where she could be given lots of quiet, consistent socialization so that she could learn to bond with and trust humans. Matilda made great progress in her foster home, but now she's back and is in desperate need of someone who can continue the socialization process with her. She has been in our Middle Cattery ever since, with multiple other cats, and does well with them.

The best situation for Matilda would be a quiet home with a patient, experienced adopter who understands that some kitties may never be brave enough to become lap cats, but still need a safe, secure home where they can show affection in their own way.

Stop in to fill out an adoption application and spend as much time as you like with our cats. We do not adopt first come; we always adopt to the best home for our animals. If you rent, bring proof (lease/contract) that you can have a cat. Also bring your Vet's information to so we can conduct a vet check (and please let your Vet know we will be making a call).

Our adoption fee is $50 for cats. Our animals are fully vetted before being placed for adoption, and spayed/neutered if they are old enough. If they are too young for spay or neuter, we require a $50 deposit that will be refunded upon proof that the pet has been altered.
