Meet Martin
Martin is approximately 2 years old and one of several cats who came to Scruffy Paws from a large hoarding situation. Martin lived with over 60 cats! After a few weeks in his foster home, he has come out of his shell, and he is wonderfully sweet and plays with all the toys; he's especially fond of little catnip mice and wands and often plays alone, tossing his toys up in the air, running up and down the stairs with them in his mouth (yes, the entire wand toy goes up and down the stairs!) Martin is a sensitive soul cat who enjoys spending time with humans, but he also loves a cozy cubby to nap in away from loud noises. Expect Martin to nestle beside you at bedtime, he loves sleeping next to a human and once he feels comfortable with you, he will follow you everywhere, including the bathroom.
Martin can be picked up, and he will squish those furry cheeks and long whiskers against your face and give you the faintest purr. He's a big couch cat and wants to watch TV with you; if you put on one of those YouTube birds and squirrel shows, he will paw at the screen. He saunters into a room and gives a funny little tail twitch when happy. With gorgeous markings, long whiskers, big bunny feet with toe bean floofs, and a fluffy tail, it is impossible not to fall in love with this boy!
Food is his FAVORITE; treats are essential and the quickest way to gain his affection. Martin will be OK with another submissive cat; he learned boundaries very quickly; he loves playing 'tag, you're it' with his foster brother and now "tags" his foster parents, too. But it is best to start him off in a separate room so he can eat separately. Children over 12 and adults would be best; while Martin is gentle with his paws and doesn't use his claws when playing, he will nibble fingers and lick your hand when he wants more pets and head scratches. If you are unsteady on your feet, be advised that this boy loves to weave between your legs to show his love and appreciation. He has not been around dogs or other animals.
