Meet Major
Meet Major - The Perfect Senior Companion!
Are you ready to welcome a wise and loving feline into your life? Look no further than Major, an 11-year-old black and brown tabby weighing in at a charming 11 pounds. Major is ready to become the cherished member of a loving forever family, and here's his story.
Major was surrendered to the Stafford County Animal Shelter because his previous owner was moving, and they wanted the best for him. While Major originally came from Petsmart, we were not provided with rescue information about his origin. Nonetheless, Major has brought with him a legacy of love and companionship.
Major is a neutered senior cat with a heart full of affection to offer. His previous owner described him as very loving and calm, making him the ideal companion for a cozy night in or a leisurely lap snuggle. Major is also excellent with other cats and kids, ensuring he'll fit right into a family environment. What's more, Dash has experience living with dogs, so if you already have canine companions, he might just become their new best friend!
In the shelter, Major has been a bit shy, perhaps due to the unfamiliar surroundings. When approached, he tends to tuck his head under his arm, a gentle way of hiding from the world. However, we believe that with the right family, Major will blossom and show his true personality – one filled with warmth and affection.
Major was not alone when he arrived at the shelter; he came with his "brother" Dash. While they share a bond, they can be adopted separately if it suits your family better. We want to find the perfect homes for both of them.
To ensure the safety and well-being of our animals, we kindly request that you bring a picture ID with your current address when considering adoption. If your address is not listed on your ID, please bring a current bill that includes your name and address, along with your picture ID. This simple step helps us guarantee the security and welfare of our animals throughout the adoption process.
For the safety of our feline friends, we require all cats to be transported in carriers. Please come prepared with a carrier when adopting a cat. In case you don't have one, we offer cardboard pet carriers for sale at $5 each. These carriers provide a comfortable and secure journey for your new feline family member as they transition to their forever home.
Our doors are open for walk-in visits during our regular hours of operation, but please note that adoptions conclude 30 minutes before the shelter closes. Adoptions are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis unless otherwise specified.
Your compassion and dedication make a significant difference in the lives of animals like Major. We are thrilled to welcome you to the Stafford County Animal Shelter and assist you in finding the perfect companion to join your family. Let's give Major the loving home he deserves!
