Adoption stipulations as follows:
Kittens are adopted out in pairs only. In the case of an odd number of kittens such as 5 the single kitten will only be adopted out to a family with another young cat. Please don’t ask your older cat to deal with the energy level of a single kitten! Your application will not be approved for a single kitten if you have an older cat. For safety reasons kittens are not adopted out to homes with children under 4 years old.
Please understand that we are looking for homes for kittens for the rest of their lives so we don’t adopt kittens out to folks over 70 years old or those in poor health. It’s not fair to the kittens to go into a home that they might lose prematurely. We know that age is not a guarantee that kittens will remain in their home for their whole lives but we do screen heavily to ensure we are selecting lifelong homes for all of our cats.
We have a Strict no de-claw policy. We care about our kittens, please do not ask to be the exception to this policy - you won’t be. Be prepared to buy a decent scratching post. The kittens that we have at our paw palace tend to love their large scratchers as well as the cardboard incline scratchers so if you get something similar chances are they will successfully use that “MOST” of the time! Keep in mind all cats need to shed their nail caps so they may occasionally scratch furniture or carpet. We find that gentle re direction to the scratcher works well!
All cats & kittens adopted out by A Paw in the Door have been FIV/FELV tested (in the case of kittens the mother is tested, if orphaned the kitten itself is tested), vaccinated, flea treated, wormed, parasite free including ear mites, spayed or neutered when of appropriate age, microchipped & certified healthy & “ready to adopt” by our vet. If you find you can not keep this pet we will take it back but no refund of fees will be issued unless for health issues of this pet.
