Lena Domestic Medium Hair Wells, ME

Since Lena first arrived at Safe Haven she has held a special place in all of our hearts. Shortly after she arrived as a very young kitten we noticed a severe limp in her right hind leg. After tests, she was treated for a severe leg infection. Once the infection cleared up and a new X Ray was taken it was discovered that Lena had absolutely no hip socket and, had no head to her femur bone. The femur is held in place only by muscles. Lena does very well running and playing and being a kitten, but doesn't know when to stop and often overextends her leg so she must be monitored closely. Her brother Hunter must be placed with Lena because he knows how to play safely with her and keeps an eye on her. You can see Hunter's profile here on Petfinder as well.
Lena is being placed as a Foster Care kitty for the first year of her life so that Safe Haven can closely monitor her progress and healthcare. That means any emerging healthcare needs will be paid for by Safe Haven.
The best home for Lena and Hunter will one without young children and without a dog. Lena will need to have your full time focus to keep her safe and healthy.
She is extremely affectionate and will demand all the love and attention you can give her.
