Meet Laurel

Hello, my furiends! Welcome the lovely Laurel, approximately 2 years old and just the sweetest tabby! Laurel is a recent member of the Scruffy Paws family, coming to us from a large hoarding situation. Poor girl, imagine living with 40+ cats! She is just looking for a family to give her lots of love and attention, a cozy place to snuggle and food she doesn't have to fight other cats for! Laurel is a gentle girl and she is OK with being picked up. Wand toys are her favorite, and loves to chase after them. Loud noises and sudden movements startle her and can make her go running to hide - but - crack open a can of food, and she comes running right back! She LOVES her wet food! A little time and a whole lotta love is all Laurel needs!

Laurel would do best in a home with kids over 12, those who can respect her space, and need to go slow until she feels comfortable with people. She doesn't have experience with dogs or other animals, but she does very well with other cats.

Thank you for being so interested in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If you see this post, we still accept applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). Please refrain from emailing us regarding availability.

All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies, and distemper vaccinations, proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing, flea treatment, deworming, and an exam by a licensed veterinarian.

Our shelter hours are by appointment only and are not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are located in foster homes. An adoption application MUST be submitted and approved before meeting our cats/kittens. We do this for the safety of our fosters and potential adopters.

Our adoption process includes the following:

1. Adoption Application
To be considered for this cat(s) or kitten(s), you MUST complete an adoption application:
- Through our website (preferred) at www.scruffypawsanimalrescue.org/
- Email a copy to scruffypawsanimalrescue@gmail.com
- Drop off a hard copy to either of our partner PetSmart locations (Johnston or North Smithfield)
- Mail a hard copy to Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue at 2944 Post Rd. Warwick, RI 02886

2. Veterinary Reference
Please call your vet beforehand to give permission to release records to our adoption team. Out-of-state adoptions typically require an exceptional veterinary reference and are at the discretion of our adoption team.

3. Proof of Home Ownership OR Landlord Approval
If renting, the landlord's contact information must be provided so our adoption team can seek approval.

4. Home Visit
Please make sure you are located in our vicinity. We are based out of Warwick, RI. Due to COVID-19, we are currently doing virtual home visits until further notice.

**Please note: Our volunteers try their hardest to contact every applicant in a timely manner but are often overwhelmed with a high volume of applications. Please allow up to two weeks for a response. We ask you to please be considerate and refrain from sending multiple follow-up emails or submitting duplicate applications.
