Kenny came from an extreme hoarding case of over 80 cats in the home over in Frederika, Iowa. Waverly Pet Rescue was able to help with 4 cats and on August 1st, 2024 we took in Kenny. He is now up to date on vaccines, tested FeLV/FIV negative, and neutered. He also had a dental done because his teeth were in awful shape. During the cleaning, the vet discovered that Kenny had more
severe dental disease than initially expected. Four teeth were extracted including an upper canine, a lower premolar and two lower major molars. he has recovered from that and can eat dry and wet cat food.

Kenny is about 2-years old as of October 2024. We let Kenny be in a foster home for a couple of months before trying to adopt him out. He was sometimes out but lived in a cage most his life over in the hoarder home.

Kenny is shy and scared at first of any new situation. Once he settles in, he warms up quickly. He loves people and he loves to be petted. Kenny will lean into you for pets. He is a sweet sweet boy. He is very affectionate and seeks out attention. Kenny is also quite a vocal boy and always has lots to say. Especially when it is time to eat! His favorite time of the day! He does well with other cats. He has not been around dogs or children.

11/8/24 UPDATE: Kenny went to a new foster home a couple of weeks ago. Happy to report that it only took him a couple of days to settle in! Sweet boy. He loves food and ear rubs! He also loves to cuddle! Especially in bed and sleep with you. He is the best cat!

11/20/24 UPDATE: Some of Kenny’s favorite things include: treats, cuddling right next to you, tiny toys that fit in his mouth. He also seems to know his name very well and will come when I say his name! He is such a character and a sweetheart. About the best cat I have ever met!

Kenny's adoption fee is $95.00.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $250 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office
