Meet Just Ken
He's Just Ken, and he's a 10 in cuteness, sweetness, and playfulness! Intelligence? Well, he steps in his water bowl and runs into walls sometimes but he's very cute!
Ken is around 1-2 yr old and is the epitome of a lap cat, he wants to be in contact with his person 24/7 and loves being held (hugged, on your lap, or like a baby), cuddled, and kissed on the head and cheeks. He follows his foster around the house for head scratches, constantly winding through her feet and asking for pets. He helps with all the chores, being by your side or headbutting your face for love. He also likes to be the little spoon at bedtime. With his sweet and patient temperament he would likely be wonderful with kids or first-time cat owners.
Ken is also very playful and athletic, he will do flips to catch a toy and chases the laser faster than any of his foster siblings, even the kittens! He talks with little chirps, trills, and meows, and sounds like a kitten when he really wants attention.
Ken is FIV positive. FIV is similar to HIV. It's lifelong, but recent research has found there there is no difference in life expectancy (Kent et al., 2022). It is best if FIV cats are kept indoors and have regular (1-2x /yr) veterinary checkups. Transmission risk is very low, but most keep FIV cats alone, with dogs, or with other positive cats.
Just Ken is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and ready for his forever home!
Our adoption process:
1) Fill out the adoption application at https://form.jotform.com/230856835699172
2) Meet with the cat in their foster home
3) If you and the cat are a match then we will set a take home date 1-7 days after the meeting depending on schedules.
** We are not able to hold cats for a particular family longer than about 7 days, unless the cat is available for pre-adoption which will be noted on their profile. Please wait to apply until you are ready to take a cat home. **
We are a completely foster based nonprofit rescue run by volunteers. We do this work out of love.
