Meet Jill

Jill is domestic long-haired, Manx, white with dark gray spots, spayed female cat with an estimated birthdate of late October 2017. Jill is nicknamed "Jilly Bar" as her dark gray stub tail resembles the shape of a Dairy Queen Dilly Bar. Jill was surrendered with 2 other adult cats from an urgent hoarding situation where the humans faced immediate eviction. Jill has adjusted well to her new, clean environment where she isn't breathing in the strong smell of ammonia from cat urine inside a double wide trailer or maneuvering around the clutter of bags and boxes. Jill has an old corneal abrasion in her left eye that was untreated, and she has cloudiness in her left eye with some vision impairment. Jill's eye does not need to be removed, and she can navigate her surroundings without difficulty.

Jill suffers from gingivostomatitis which is basically a hyper-immune response to the plaque bacteria in the mouth causing pain and inflammation in the oral cavity. Because of her stomatitis, Jill has NO remaining teeth, yet she can still eat hard food and enjoys a very soft, hydrating pate cut into chunks. Good news is that Jill will not require any dental cleanings or extractions. Jill's stomatitis has dramatically decreased since her intake date of Oct. 2024, and is limited to a small area in the right rear lower quadrant of her mouth.

Jill has fine, silky fur that is almost rabbit-like. She has a cute way of bunny-hopping and pouncing on cloth cat toys. She is sweet but timid and would do best in a home with another calm, gentle cat to help her transition to a new home and gain confidence. However, placement as the only pet in the household will be considered if the pet parent spends a lot of time at home. Jill has gained more confidence through her interaction with foster kittens, and she has approached and allowed petting by new people coming into her foster home.

Spayed; current on vaccinations; microchipped; litter box trained; and negative for both feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus.
