Meet Hazel (ID 43527/2469)
Female/spayed - 4 years - 10 lbs - owner surrender
Hazel came to us because of a move. She previously lived in a single person home where grand kids visited occasionally. She was fine and gentle with the kids but her previous owner indicated that she didn't like to be handled roughly. According to her previous owner, hazel is good with kids, brushing, being petted, is playful, easily startled, gentle and well behaved. Hazel didn't handle her surrender well and became very scared and defensive when she was at the center. A wonderful foster family opened their home to Hazel and they've learned that she is a very nice, easy, sometimes silly, kitty. Her foster parents said that she was scared for about the first 24 hours but since then loves to be petted, loves to eat in the company of her people and loves her scratching pad. She doesn't like to be picked up (most cats don't) but she loves to sit next to her people and spend time with then. Hazel has met the quiet family dog and just watches him. She enjoys playing with toys and gazing out the window. Hazel will make somebody a very nice companion.
here is a note from her foster mom:
"She is the perfect guest: uses the litter box , uses the scratching post , plays in her water bowl, sniffs the dog through the gate.
I do think she would do fine in a house with another cat also.
She is playful also with the cat toys. "
Hazel is currently in a foster home. For more information or to schedule a meeting, please contact ntarr@pwcgov.org
