Meet Hazel
Hazel is a tame female cat who is declawed on the front paws. We were trying to trap a feral cat but she got in the trap instead. She had been observed living outside for about 5 weeks, so when we caught her, we tried to find her owners by advertising, but nobody is looking for her. What a shame, to declaw a cat and then throw it outside, where it cannot fend for itself! There was no microchip or collar to identify her. She is already spayed, and the vet guess-timated her age as being between 7-12 years old.
Hazel has a mild heart murmur and was very skinny when we found her and she was exhibiting signs of a cat who has a thyroid problem; so we have done bloodwork and the results showed that she is hyperthyroid and will require daily medication (but it costs less than a dollar a day).
Could you find in in your heart to adopt a senior kitty with lots of spunk? Hazel loves to play, enjoys catnip and being brushed. She is very affectionate and would love the opportunity to make your home her retirement villa!
Please email or call Sonya at 469-MEOW to be introduced to Hazel.
Update: Hazel is living in a foster home and has been diagnosed as Hyperthyroid and is doing amazingly well on her medication Tapazole ( a very tiny pill that she takes very willingly directly by mouth). She has gained all of her weight back and is coping very well with her situation considering she is an orphan after spending a lifetime a housepet. This special kitty has the dearest personality and loves to gives hugs when you pick her up. She does need to be adopted to a home that has someone that can give her a pill 12 hours apart every day. She is very easy to pill, and does not struggle at all. Does anyone have a home where she can spend her senior years? Come meet her, you WILL fall in love! 469-MEOW
