Meet Gus, the snaggle-toothed, trash-can-raiding street cat with a heart of gold. He’s basically the underdog protagonist in that kid’s movie that teaches you an important lesson about finding love in the most unlikely of places. Gus is estimated to be around 1-year-old and was found living outside a school begging for some attention, but he was an unwelcome guest. He was brought home by a good Samaritan who saw past the rough exterior to the sweet boy inside (queue inspiring string instrument music). It was quickly discovered that Gus prefers the only-cat life. We think he could do okay with a low-key dog who will give him space. We imagine he likely fought his way through life on the streets, so now that he’s experiencing the good life indoors, he wants it all for himself. He can be cranky about being snuck up on or pet unexpectedly, so only cat-savvy kids for this guy. Other than his distaste for being caught off guard, he truly is an affectionate lap cat who will make a wonderful companion. No one is a stranger to Gus. He will confidently greet new people and will expect some attention, so make sure all your friends are cat lovers. He is always open to a good chat and has a range of expressive vocalizations, for those who enjoy some conversation. He is quite playful and loves batting around some toys and interacting with his people during playtime.. We imagine the end scene of this movie with the purring street-cat curled up on a (previously) lonely person’s lap, with a Hallmark movie playing on the TV and a smile plastered on his new loving pet-parent’s face. Call us for the rights, Disney.
Gus is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and will be microchipped and FIV/FelV tested prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $125. Apply for this reformed stray here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CCRS/Cat
