Meet Gerald
**THIS IS A TRUE RESCUE CAT SITUATION. PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION BELOW**
Gerald is a 6-year old TICA registered Purebred Turkish Van (TICA registered name will be given at adoption to prevent fraudulent documentation). He is neutered and current on vaccines. His coat is medium to long and his color is classic Red Tabby with White.
Gerald is a retired stud cat and is eagerly awaiting a loving home. He is still currently in the care of an elderly breeder who is unable to care for him properly due to her health issues. He spends the majority of his time separated from other cats and people.
Gerald is extremely timid, shy and has not been handled much. He is in need of a person who will work with him and restore his confidence and trust in people.
He was not able to be around other animals most of his life so it is best that he be the only cat in the house, as he may exhibit his dominance around other small pets that the does not know.
Also, he may not tolerate children so he would be best in a home with adults only.
We are in desperate need of someone who is willing to take on this challenge and get him back to the loving cat we know he can be.
We anticipate that Gerald will eventually become easy to handle like the previous stud cat that was rehabilitated, but make no guarantees to his temperament.
If you have a true rescuer's heart and will be patient as he gets accustomed to a cage-free world, contact us by calling or texting 682.402.4219 for adoption information.

The nice thing about Turkish Vans is their medium-length fur doesn’t have an undercoat so it is less likely to mat than other long-haired cat breeds. Also, they shed less than most long-haired cats.
Purebred Turkish Vans typically sell for $800-$1500. As we are a rescue organization, we are asking $100 just to help cover the cost of his medical care, but we are willing to negotiate that. Papers will be provided upon adoption and the new owner can contact TICA to have registration transferred to them.
Note: Any potential adopters must agree to NOT DECLAW this cat. Gerald is currently housed about 2 hours east of Fort Worth.
Adoption fee for Gerald is suggested at $100, but is open to negotiation for the right home.
