Sadly, every year the shelter gets in “hoarder cats.” The cats have never known a clean, loving home. Many of these cats are unsocialized and scared. The first hoarder situation of 2023 was the named the “G” group. We pick a letter to know which hoarder they have come from. Lucky for this group, the owner got sick and had to give up the cats. Many were kept in single cages or crates in a dark basement. The lucky ones, lived upstairs in rooms or cat carriers.

Gemma is the matriarch of the clan. She is 17 years old and was permitted to be an indoor/outdoor cat. She is very afraid, yet very, very sweet when you pet her. She even likes to be held. Gemma will need a lot of time to adjust. A quiet home is best. Start her in a small room, then slowly let her explore the home in her comfort time. She does not need to be outdoor at her age. She will be content just being in a warm, loving home with lots of cat food!

The shelter has an appointment only policy. We ask potential adopters to fill out our application, prior to a scheduled meeting. The staff is very accommodating, and we welcome any inquires.
