Meet Friday

Update: As a long term resident of Safe Haven, we consider Friday to be a priory candidate for adoption, along with his best friend, Emma. Together, in a quiet and patient home, these two kitties will likely blossom into wonderful companions.
If you are looking to rescue the “long term residents” who need your compassion the most, these two kitties will provide you with a rewarding opportunity and two new friends.

Friday and his brother, Sawyer, were trapped as stray kittens without a mother to be found. They were scared and hissy, as most feral kittens are and have required a lot of socializing to get them comfortable around our volunteers. Sawyer was more outgoing of the two and lead the way for getting adopted. Friday, who is still shy around people, has now bonded with sweet Emma, who came to Safe Haven with kittens who have since been adopted. Both cats are friendly and playful, but still tend to avoid guests unless treats are involved. Friday loves to lick Squeeze-up treats off our volunteers’ fingers, yet still backs away from being petted. With strays, you never know what they might have experienced before being trapped and brought to a shelter. The trauma they endured can take months or even years to allow them to build trust with people. Luckily, neither cat has shown aggression towards our volunteers or visitors. We feel that their time has come, since they have each other, to join a quiet family with no young children or dogs. Volunteers have recently commented that both cats are braver now and tend to hang by the glass door watching shelter activity out in the hallway. We feel that in a quiet home with lots of kindness and patience, they will settle in and be gentle and friendly companions.

If you are interested in meeting Friday and Emma, please go to our website and fill out an adoption application and we will be in touch to make an appointment for your visit. Filling out an application is not a commitment to adopt.
